Xbox 360 Kinect!
Today The XBOX 360 KINECT CAME OUT! I am so psyched!! My dad got a email 2 days ago saying it was in the mail, so it must be here TODAY! The Kinect is a new piece that goes to the Xbox 360 that makes it so that when you play, you don't need a controller, its hands on. It is based on the word Kinect which means, energy in motion. The Kinect has a built in mic and webcam. It has these sensors in it that detect your movements. A lot of my friends have ordered it, so when I set mine up and get on Xbox Live, we are going to have a big webcam party with some of my friends from school and, some that live in different states. I will no longer need a mic because people can hear my voice, and I can hear there voice at Dolby Digital Surround Sound! I can't wait til I get home! :) :p

Jared, thanks for the information about this new feature. My husband and I were looking through the Target catalogue and talking about the commercials. We were wondering how it worked when I remembered that I had seen your post title. You explained how the system worked very well. I have a few questions:
ReplyDeleteWhat if someone else in the room is moving? Will it pick up their movements and mess up the game? About how much does the new equiptment cost and do you feel it is worth the cost? How is the camera quality compared to other webcams? How many sensors does it have and how do they work exactly? What is the difficulty level of installation?

You may want to do a few spelling and grammar checks as you add to this post filling in the information (an e-mail, it's hands on). the errors are not big, but if you were to write this review for a gaming magazine or website, you would want to be taken seriously. Errors take away from your credibility. This was nicely done otherwise.

ReplyDeleteIf someone is in the room moving, it will pick up their movements and mess you up if you are playing something. The kinect has an automatic sync features like, if you are playing Kinect Joy Ride and your husband wants to play. All he was to do is stand by you(give each other elbow space) and he will be automatically synced in. The Kinect by itself is $150.00. The whole bundle(new xbox 360 and kinect) is $300.00. If you already have a Xbox 360, you should get the kinect. If you don't have a 360, you should get the bundle. That is a pretty good deal for a 360 and Kinect. The webcam is no different than any other webcams accept, it can pick up more sounds If you video chat(requires Xbox Live Gold). The Kinect has 3 sensors. They are the mic, webcam, and scanner. The mic detects your voice when it asks you to speak. The webcam allows you to see yourself and talk to other people. The scanner is very cool. I was playing Kinect Joy Ride and I got to change the color of my car. The Kinect scanned my green shirt(I pointed to it) and my car became green. The level of installation is very easy. All you have to do is attach the USB cord to the back of your Xbox and It is hooked up. Make sure you follow the directions when u turn on your Xbox our, read the manual for more details. ReplyDeleteYou are very good at explaining this stuff in a way that is respectful and easy to understand. I really think you should do more writing like this. I see strong sentences and a fluency that I don't see anywhere else in your writing. When I read it, it is as if I am reading a gaming magazine. Have you gotten Black Ops yet? I am waiting to see your review of that.
I have gotten Black Ops. I used to play Call of Duty a lot, but I stopped playing because I liked Halo better. I am an ok person at Call of Duty. I will probably play tonight and see what the game's like. I already know for a fact that the game is in 3D for specific TV's such as Samsung(which I have). I will post a review on this game.

ReplyDeleteThe Wii is not better than the Kinect. The Kinect requires no controllers, just body movements. The Wii requires controllers and has very lame graphics. The Kinect is more interactive than the Wii, and is a very good exercise. The Wii is no where close to the Kinect!
